About
Anja Schüler joined the HCA in 2009 as a research associate She also coordinates events, is responsible for public relations, and has hosted the HCA podcast since April 2020. She previously taught at the Free University of Berlin, Humboldt University and the Heidelberg University of Education. She is the author of Frauenbewegung und Sozialreform: Jane Addams und Alice Salomon im transatlantischen Dialog, 1889-1933 (2004) and co-editor of Social Justice Feminists in the United States and Germany: A Dialogue in Documents, 1885-1933 (1997), Politische Netzwerkerinnen: Women's International Collaborations 1830-1960 (2007), and Forging Bonds Across Borders: Transatlantic Collaborations for Women's Rights and Social Justice in the Long Nineteenth Century (2017). She studied modern history, American Studies and journalism at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, the University of Georgia in Athens, and the Freie Universität Berlin. After research stays at the University of Minnesota and in Washington, D.C., she received her doctorate from the Free University of Berlin in 2000.
