Our Premises

Since 2006, the HCA calls the Curt-und-Heidemarie-Engelhorn Palais in Heidelberg’s Old Town its home. The baroque townhouse was erected at the beginning of the eighteenth century and has since housed families, students, departments of the university and commercial establishments until it was purchased by the Engelhorn family, which initiated extensive renovations and granted exclusive use to the HCA.  Located close to University Square, the Engelhorn-Palais is within short walking distance of the University Library, the cafeterias, and the Old and New University. In 2009, the modern annex of the HCA was dedicated, turning the baroque town house into a small state-of-the-art convention center with its glass-encased atrium, a catering kitchen, and access to a landscaped courtyard. The elegant Bel Etage of the historic palais, which features Louis Seize-style stucco and frescos, also lends itself to small gatherings and exquisite receptions.
